Our next stop will be the Lewis County Museum of Natural History where you will come face to face with the exotic Bengal Tiger.

Oktober Heritage Festival - second weekend in October
Lewis County attracts thousands of visitors to the downtown Oktober Heritage Festival and Meriwether Lewis Arts and Crafts Festival the second weekend in October each year. This year's event is October 11-12, 2008. In the downtown Hohenwald area you can expect to see a Car Show on Saturday. Check in time is 8:00 am. Awards given at 1:00 pm. Arts, crafts, and food Saturday and Sunday from 9 am until 5 pm. Entertainment on Saturday will go until 9 pm, with fireworks to end the day. Entertainment on Sunday is from 11 am until 5 pm. LEWIS COUNTY MUSEUM
A great place to begin a tour of Hohenwald is the Lewis County Museum and Discovery Center. Located on Main Street, the Museum presents the story of Lewis County, beginning with the prehistoric peoples who built hunting camps here.

NATCHEZ TRACE WINE TRAIL
Spirits and wine along the Natchez Trace have a long and treasured history. Landlocked farmers needed a way to ship their produce to markets. Corn and grapes were too precious to make the 2 month wet long journey by river raft to Natchez.
