The Hohenwald historic district is being preserved through the Historic Preservation Commission. Houses dating from the 1890's and 1920's provide the basis for a walking tour telling the story of the founding of the colony. A walking map of the downtown historic district is available at the office of the Hohenwald/Lewis County Chamber of Commerce, 106 North Court Street.
