We welcome both public and private schools, home school families and non-traditional school groups to The Elephant Discovery Center for an enriching and interactive field trip experience. We emphasize engaged learning with hands-on activities and student driven experiences led by our education team of staff members and volunteer docents. The sanctuary is currently home to 10 elephants retired from zoom and circuses, many of whom suffer long-term health and behavioral issues common to elephants that have spent their lives in captivity. While the 2700 acre sanctuary is NOT open to te public, The Sanctuary's Elephant Discovery Center museum IS open every Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00- 4:00 PM.
