Beach Boys Tribute Free Concert & Fireworks

Fun Fun Fun in '21: Cruise over to the City Parking Lot for a free concert featuring Sail On: the Beach Boys Tribute followed by a fireworks show.
  • Family activities start at 5:30 p.m.
  • Concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
  • Water slides
  • City Train Rides
  • Face-painting
  • Lawn Games, etc.
FOOD: A variety of food trucks and other vendors will also be on hand.
PLEASE NOTE: Bring a lawn chair. The fireworks show will be after the concert.
ABOUT THE BAND: Sail On plays the music of The Beach Boys. Performing all of the classic hits, plus some treasures from the brilliant extended catalog, Sail On faithfully recreates the timeless songs of surfing, cruising, dancing, and dreaming for all ages, and anybody that wants to have Fun, Fun, Fun.

Book Signing by Local Author, Tony Turnbow

Tony Turnbow, author of "The Shadow of E.Z.'s fear" will be at the library to introduce the first book in his new, historical fiction series, Fighting the Devil's Backbone. This series geared towards youth, focuses on two brothers who make their way down the Natchez Trace in 1809. It is filled with adventure, mystery, and intrigue.

This author event is being co-hosted by the Lewis County Public Library and the Lewis County Historical Society. Copies of "The Shadow of E.Z.'s Fear" will be available for purchase.

Davis House Child Advocacy Center is pleased to announce the 10th annual music event MUSIC THAT MATTERS – A Night of Songs & Stories (previously Rock the House Music Jam) featuring hit songwriters Tony Arata, Leslie Satcher and Pete Wasner. It will take place on Friday, August 13 at The Franklin Theatre. Presented by Jackson National Life Insurance Company, the event serves to raise funds for the services provided at no cost by Davis House to children and families in the community impacted by child abuse. 

 “We are excited to bring this event back to the Franklin Theatre with an all-new lineup of talented songwriters. This is a night of fun and great music, but most importantly, it helps Davis House continue to provide services to the children and families in this community impacted by child abuse,” says Davis House Executive Director Dr. Brent Hutchinson.

Cabaret Table Seating, Premium First Rows Seating and Balcony Seating tickets include a pre-show Meet & Greet with the songwriters including BBQ and beverages provided by Stroud’s Barbeque and Pennington Distillery. General Classic Seating ticket holders have concessions available for purchase and doors open at 7:00pm.
