Lewis County Solid Waste recycles cardboard, newspapers, magazines, tires, oil, batteries, scrap aluminum and cans, steel and scrap metal. 

 Also, all types of electronics including computers, televisions, radios, phones, and cell phones.  Lewis County property owners can take their recyclables to the transfer station located on Hwy. 48 South just outside of town.  Call 931-796-6058 for more information.

As of 10/29/2020 -

Due to the recent increase of Coronavirus cases in the Lewis county community, beginning Monday, the Lewis County solid waste office will be closed to the public. Curbside service will be offered from 7:30 to 4 throughout the week. However, due to health and safety concerns, customers are strongly encouraged to either call in, or mail in, their solid waste fees to the office. Payments can easily be made over the phone with a credit or debit card at (931) 796-3378. Payments can also be mailed to:

In addition, for the safety and convenience of our customers, there is a new drop box located at the Courthouse. When customers pay by phone, mail, or drop box, a receipt and solid waste sticker will be mailed back to them. If an extra sticker is needed, please include an extra $2.00 with your payment.
