Lewis County and Hohenwald are located at the center of the attractive “Nashville’s Big Back Yard” region and our community can be your new home. We are located 75 miles southwest of Nashville with great highway and interstate access. We also have medium and large airports in several of our NBBY counties and in nearby Nashville, The Shoals and Huntsville.

Exercising is also essential to good health. Here you will find a one-mile walking track located at Lewis Co. Memorial Park, 115 Smith Ave. Also, two walking tracks are available for public use after school hours and when school is not in session. One is located at 310 Park Ave. S. at Lewis Co. Intermediate School, where walking 3.76 laps is equivalent to one mile. Another track, which is ¼ mile in length, is located at 818 W. Main St. at Lewis Co. High School. Finally, Lewis County has abundant hiking and walking trails at Meriwether Lewis and along the Natchez Trace Parkway that appeal to all ages and abilities. Fishing and paddling sports are also possible on several lakes and streams. Golf and swimming are also available at municipal facilities and private resorts in the city and county.
Opportunities to learn and develop are significant to a full life for all members of your family. Lewis County public schools, along with private and home school networks are available for Pre-K through High School graduation. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Hohenwald is an award-winning post-secondary institution that offers a wide range of career and technical education options. Columbia State Community College and the University of Tennessee Southern campuses are also within easy driving distance and provide additional post-secondary opportunities.
