Welcome to Oak Grove Lavender!
Originally from California, we moved to Tennessee in 2019 looking for a simpler life. Since then, we have only looked forward. We feel blessed to be in an area we love, with great people, and can’t get enough of that small town way of life.
After spending a year rebuilding our farmhouse, we knew we wanted to farm… But, what would it be? Hemp? Ginseng? Soybeans? After exploring a few options, Tony’s Google search led us to lavender… Seriously. Who doesn’t love lavender?!
This started our journey into farming.
Being new to farming, we attended almost every course the University of Tennessee Extension offered. We joined the U.S. Lavender Growers Association and Farmer’s Veteran Coalition and networked with other farmers.
We were all in. We were ready. We were excited to create an amazing experience for you!
One thousand plants went in the ground in 2021. We added 2000 more the following year. I’m sure our neighbors thought we were a little crazy... we were the only people outside in the 90 degree heat and humidity!
When you’re chasing a dream, the heat and sweat are part of the journey.
We continue to learn by trial, error and success! We currently have six cultivars (varieties) at Oak Grove for you to enjoy, including Edelweiss, Gros Bleu, Phenomenal, Provence, Riverina Thomas, and Royal Velvet. We set goals each year to become more self-sufficient, keep things simple, and to live off the land as much as possible. We know there are many of you out there doing the same.
Our day-to-day lives have changed completely, and we couldn’t be happier!
